Scope hires former World Bank risk specialist to head up ESG activities from Paris

Scope is pursuing its expansion plans in France with a new appointment which marks the first step in creating an ESG hub in its Paris office.

Diane Menville, a former market and counterparty risk specialist at World Bank Group, Banque de France and Barclays, has joined Scope in the French capital as Head of ESG. Scope already boasts important ESG credentials as the only credit rating agency that is a member of the German government’s ESG taskforce, the Sustainable Finance Committee.

“We are living in fast-changing times in which policy makers, particularly in Europe, are increasingly focused on the urgency of the transition toward more sustainable economic growth. Credit rating agencies have a crucial role to play in facilitating sustainable long-term investment - by working closely with institutional investors and issuers - which is why I am so pleased to bring my energy and expertise to make Scope a leader in ESG,” Menville said.
